Khaleesi Visits HolyWeaves

While we sometimes come across gutka-spitting customers, it's not often that we see a customer entering with a fire-spitting dragon on her shoulder. But our saree expert, Anand, welcomes the visitors as he always does—unfazed, smiling, respectful. 

He turns to the curly-haired lady and asks: 

"मैडम का नाम क्या है?"

(What is Madam's name?)

The lady answered with poise and precision, fluent in tongues far beyond Sanskrit or Sindarin:

"डेनैरिस स्टॉर्मबॉर्न, हाउस टार्गैरियन की, 

उनकी नाम की पहली, एंडल्स और पहले पुरुषों की रानी,

राज्य की रक्षक, ग्रेट ग्रास सी की खलीसी,

ज़ंजीरों को तोड़ने वाली, और ड्रैगन की मां।"

(Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Realm, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.)

Anand paused. Then nodded respectfully, considered the syllables, and gently said:

"रहने दीजिए, 'भाभीजी' ही ठीक है।"

(Nevermind. I will stick to the usual salutation-Bhabhi Ji.)

He turns to the silver-haired woman beside her, eyes twinkling.

"भाभी जी, आपके बाल बिलकुल कतान सिल्क जैसे हैं, 

ये लाल कतान साड़ी आपपे खूब जँचेगी।"

(This red Katan saree will suit you beautifully and match your silky white hair, Bhabhi Ji.)

Khaleesi looked amused.

"'Bhabhi Ji'… I like that. 

I also overheard someone call me 'Bua Ji' on the way while I was coming here. 

What does that mean?"

Melisandre clears throat, and intervenes to change the topic. She asks Anand to show Khaleesi some more options.

After seeing a few other option in Tasar and Kora, she settles for the red Katan saree.

She also goes on to pick:

• A Modi Jacket for Tyrion,
• A Kurta for Lord Varys,
• A Scarf for Drogon — the metallic kind, nothing flammable.

Winter is coming, so she promised she'd come back for some shawls.

"Most welcome, Bhabhi Ji," Anand says.

"But please park your dragons outside next time."

Everyone shares a laugh.
